Of course we have the standard, and ubiquitous reasons...Thirty yrs of hands on, industry experience, affordable, flat rate pricing, long history of happy clients, well versed in DC silver age comic lore...the list goes on and on. We've got all that but that's not what makes us us.


What you get from working with us is how we see the world. Like true creatives, through brand colored glasses (seriously, we do...they're on now, check instagram). Brands infuse everything we do.


Our core belief is that brands are stories, stories about your business boiled down to an easily recalled idea and image. Marketing is then telling those stories in unique ways to people you don't know yet. Successful brands tell genuine stories that are easily and consistently repeatable while resonating with consumers. Using that definition, can anyone and anything can be a brand? Yes, they can and they should think of themselves as one.


Every client we work with sees themselves as a brand. Where we come in is to work with them to see the possibilities inherent in their own brand. Sometimes for the first time, sometimes like seeing an old friend again for the first time in a long time. We show them how their brands give their marketing faster recognition with consumers. The question we get asked most often is: "why should I work with you?"  Typically, it's phrased more along the lines of something like: "what's so special about you?" but thankfully we're not easily offended. It did take us awhile, though, but eventually we deciphered that to mean: "...what benefits does my business get from doing business with the Design Office? What's the ROI?" It's what everyone wants to know. It's why you're here reading this. Right? Inquiring minds...

We get asked a lot of odd questions....

Brands get people talking, they are the conversation starter, the ice breaker you need. If people aren't talking about you, then you're not really marketing. You need consumers to be talking all the time, not just when you send them a postcard, email blast or Facebook update.


Marketing at its core is simply good stories about your brand, shared by consumers who've engaged with your brand. It's truly that simple! It's me telling you how awesome someone is.


How do you get that momentum going? The key to any vibrant and successful marketing strategy is a well developed brand. To get people talking, and talking in the right way; you have to give people something to talk about. It's a hard to excite someone with: "...he's the best dry cleaner you should try him." But if you say: " kid got marker on my most expensive suit; but Bill's dry cleaning got it out and made it look new." That's a relatable, shareable story! That's your marketing and branding working together to grow your business.


Your brand is what separates you from everyone else in your industry. It's not hyperbole to say it's a businesses fingerprint. No other business in your industry does things exactly like you, so the thinking goes then, extolling that uniqueness will make your marketing efforts connect more effectively with people who need you, specifically.


The biggest challenge in marketing effort is a solid ROI. It's a real challenge to being in more than it costs to engage the marketing effort it's a waste. Breaking even isn't going to cut it need to see real growth.


A brand gives you something to market, something tangible to talk about with consumer, something relatable to engage them with. A brand gives you growth, naturally, logically and easily.

We do not subscribe to the notion that any PR is good PR.  There's a lot of bad PR out there right now being sold as good PR. As a small business, you know, positive word of mouth is vital to the success of your business. What people are saying can literally effect your bottom line. Unlike medium to large business that can survive bad word of mouth, as a small business, you may not. You know Bad PR travels fast and far. It can be difficult to ride the wave for you. If only there was a way to ensure greater marketing success?
